Acrodex considers involvement in the community to be a fundamental social responsibility. To support this responsibility, Acrodex is involved with a variety of community initiatives primarily focused on post-secondary education, youth support and information technology leadership.
Kids Kottage 
On behalf of its valued clients, and combined with customer donations, Acrodex presented a cheque for $5,850 to the Edmonton Kids Kottage Foundation on August 8 during its annual Northern Alberta Golf Invitational tournament.“We chose to support Kids Kottage because of its exceptional support to our local community. And we were delighted that our attendees showed such a strong response towards this cause,” said Acrodex President Yasmin Jivraj.
University of Alberta School of Business
 Acrodex was pleased to present the Acrodex Scholarship to University of Alberta student Menard Tran at the Undergraduate Awards Ceremony and Reception on Feb. 12, 2011. The $1,000 award is presented annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering any year of an undergraduate degree program in the University of Alberta School of Business, and majoring in Management Information Systems. Tran is in a first-year BCom student and hopes to work in the IT field with eventual plans to pursue an MBA degree. He is part of the Management Information Systems (MIS) society. Acrodex president Yasmin Jivraj presented the award at the ceremony.
Focus Humanitarian Assistance
On Sept. 10, 2010, Acrodex
donated $50,000 in humanitarian aid to Pakistan on the heels of floods
that destroyed communities and devastated people and families. Acrodex
worked with Focus Humanitarian Assistance, an NGO that provides
emergency relief to developing nations. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), more than 1.2 million homes were lost due to heavy rains, floods, landslides and mudflows.
Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation/Lois Hole Hospital
In 2009 Acrodex began a five year annual contribution to the Royal Alex Hospital Foundation / Lois Hole Hospital for Women. This foundation pays tribute to the advancements in care, treatment, and technology that has made the Royal Alexandra Hospital a centre of excellence across a multitude of programs.
JDC West 2009
Acrodex was a proud sponsor of the JDC West 2009 competition. This academic competition draws from among the best students from all the participating business schools, including the University of Alberta, where it was held.
Chancelor's Cup Tournament 2008
While celebrating their centenary, the University of Alberta held it Chancelor's Cup Tournament in 2008 and Acrodex was one of the proud sponsors.
Great Kids Award
In 2007 and again in 2008, Acrodex sponsored the Great Kids Award, an event put on by Alberta Children's Services.
St. George's Hellenic Language School
During the renovation of their computer lab in 2006, St.George's Hellenic Language School of Edmonton received from Acrodex the invaluable resource of new computers for their lab.
Alberta's Promise
Beginning in 2003, Acrodex launched a partnership with Alberta's Promise, an organization dedicated to making Alberta the best place to raise our children. As part of the Alberta Promise, Acrodex has pledged to maintain and expand its contributions to organizations that work to provide our children with the best learning and growing environment.
