Acrodex Wins National Prize in Best Enterprise IT Solution Category at CDN Channel Elite Awards

(Edmonton, Alberta, Sept. 17, 2010) – A project that will streamline and standardize computer desktops for each of the Government of Alberta’s 24 ministries has earned Edmonton-based national IT solutions provider Acrodex a top spot in the annual Computer Dealer News (CDN) Channel Elite Awards.

Custom Publishing and CDN Publisher Brad McBride of IT World Canada awards Acrodex second-place in the Best Enterprise Solution category to Acrodex CEO Karim Amarshi, President Yasmin Jivraj and Partnership Executive John Abrahamson.

Acrodex won the seven-year, $70 million contract to provide centralized desktop management services for the Province of Alberta earlier this year.

During a ceremony in Toronto Sept. 16 Computer Dealer News (CDN), a national IT publication, awarded Acrodex a silver medal in the Best Enterprise Solution category at its annual Channel Elite Award gala.

“We are delighted to win this award,” said Acrodex president Yasmin Jivraj who, along with Acrodex CEO Karim Amarshi and Partnership Executive John Abrahamson, accepted the award at the evening presentation.

“It reinforces the hard work and dedication our specialists put toward this project, and highlights the innovative quality of an Acrodex solution.”

CIOs and IT Directors from high-profile Canadian companies comprised the judging pool for the competition, which is in its eighth year.

Project nominations in each of the 10 categories were evaluated according to originality, improved sales or revenue, improved efficiency, customer service and  “X-factor” or demonstration that the company went above and beyond industry norms.

“We hold these awards in recognition of the solution provider community and to recognize creative innovative solutions in that community,” said CDN editor Paolo Del Nibletto.

“I’m pleased to say we qualified more companies than ever for this year’s Channel Elite awards. It means the standard has definitely risen for the awards, and that’s definitely a good sign.”
